Homestar EXTRA... I LOVE this thing

Been on a kick with all my collections lately, and here is the prize piece of my planetarium collection, and yes i have a collection of planetariums, 5 or 6, then i have like 6 discs that go into these homestar planetariums, so that makes a pretty cool collection if you're a science geek like myself or Anne... Yup another thing her and I have in common, a love of science, astronomy, physics, all things in a broad spectrum of science...lol... so she tolerates the clutter in the apartment of things like this, the Homestar EXTRA... I forget the exact number of stars compared to the regular homestar, but considering its like over 15 times brighter than that model, which i also own, told ya it was a collection...lol... This model was made for Japanese clubs and schools... it works in low light situations, doesnt have to be total darkness like the original homestar which is 1 watt.. this one is 16 watts... also comes with a remote that lets you punch in any date and it will show you the night sky for that date and year... when i discovered this online, i pined over it a couple years and made due with the first homestar which still is a good unit, but when i finally got this one and it arrived at my doorstep, i could barely contain myself and had a nerdgasm the first night i set it up and got it running... i tried getting some pics but none of em came out that great or do it justice, you just gotta see it, its pretty friggin amazing, the first thing everyone says is.... WOW....lol... you dont even have to be a geek to be wowed by it... even our cat is mesmerized by it when we have it running...lol... its a Japanese import and the prices vary from expensive to out of your mind expensive, but like the first Homestar when i got it, i found a really good deal online, so i had to get it, and its still one of my best impulse buys ever... lol... this is so far the highest end mass market home planetarium available, so if you ever get the chance to buy one at a good price, or can even find one cuz they're kinda rare and overpriced as is, scoop it up, you won't be sorry.... i've used this thing alot and i'm still wowed by it the first time i fire it up after not using it for awhile...lol... come to think of it, i think i'll sit under it tonight for an hour or so, whenever i use it, i feel like a little kid at X-mas, i'm pretty goofy like that...lol

Halo soldier on duty

Got 2 of my collections represented here in this lovely little pic... A halo figure decked out in the current configuration of weapons and armor and colors that matches what i'm currently playing in Halo Reach... same colors and all... i know i'm corny as hell, but just another of the many distractions i have to make my weird boring life more interesting and tolerable.. Anne finds it adorable, she is the most amazing and wonderful and accepting person on the planet, just to be able to be around me 24/7, i can't give her enough credit...lol.. Love her so much...she is the best thing that ever and will ever happen to me... even winning the lottery can't even come close, and i tell her all the time that the odds of meeting someone like her are greater than any 100 million dollar lottery...lol... i'll take one of those tickets tho anyway baby Jeezus if you're listening...lol.. I'm grateful for Anne and all, but can't blame me for bein greedy, its the american way...lol... did a little artistic tinkering with the pic, hope you guys like it...

My favorite skull

Another of my collections, and i'm discovering i have many...lol... lemme see, nerf guns, music, gargoyles, action figures, board games, planetariums, and a sample here from my skull collection... and its probly my favorite out of all of them... it just has a creepy spooky evil vibe to it... so i played around here adding mood to the pic in photoshop, hopefully i did it justice...lol... lost count of how many skulls i have, but i took a few pics today so you'll be seeing more of them in upcoming posts...lol... trying to update this blog more often to accompany my other blog that this blog is linked to... and i actually have regular visitors to both, which i find awesome and i'm grateful to all the nice people who find my ramblings and my stupid shit and hobbies and collections and art interesting...lol.. thanx again to all you wonderful bored people out there...lol.. boredom would be the only thing i can think of that would make me seem interesting and a reason to visit both blogs... sorry for the bad grammar, tired after a morning of flailing playing kinect fruit ninja, and boy are my arms tired... sounds like a punchline, but nope, that game kicks the shit outta my sorry outta shape ass... but its fun as hell... if you have a kinect and an xbox, you gotta get it... i gave it a great review on my other blog...lol

My own little R2D2

Here we have another of my prized star wars collectibles, a fully functioning scaled down R2 unit... does everything, rolls around, plays games, voice activated, tons of voice commands and hidden tricks he can do, one of the coolest toys in my collection... Not sure if these are still in production cuz i know sharper image was selling them right before they went belly up...lol... but i got mine a long time ago from toys r us... they were only available there for a short time, so i'm glad i scooped him up when i did... yesterday i was at Target and i saw a hasbro force FX light saber plastic version, but with the one piece LED scaling up and down blade like the expensive ones, does all the same sound effects, and it was like 30 bucks, so i had to grab it...lol... now that sits right next to the trusty little R2 unit on the floor next to my RC WALL-E... will post a pic of that some other time, i got too many cool damn toys...lol...

Force FX lightsabers... the good ones

Apologize again for being away for so long, caught up in the usual bizzy shit and medical woes, and lots of gaming and music and my usual shizz...lol.. and for new visitors here be sure to go to the bottom and hit older posts, cuz i have pages and pages of cool old shit like art samples, more pics of my toy collections, cat pics, all kinds of stupid goodness...lol.. Todays pic is of one of my prized pieces of all my star wars shit, my 3 force FX lightsabers from Masterreplicas... these are the first and original ones the company put out many years ago, i'm bad with ages and times and shit, lol... Just that these were allegedly made with parts from lucasfilm that they used in the original movies... they didnt say what parts, just weird shit like screws and knobs and random pieces... and they're like a third bigger than the current ones you see now in stores, they're the mass produced ones that are a third smaller now and the new ones use 3 AA batteries... my little babies take 6AAs, so that with the size difference give them quite a heft in your hand as opposed to the new ones... these feel like what i'm sure a real saber woulda felt like...lol... and they're in mint condition like most of my shit, and the pics just don't do em justice... i love these things..lol.. comin soon i'll put up a pic of my R2 unit that is pretty friggin awesome, voice activated, all the sound effects and lights and he rolls around like the real thing...lol... so keep comin back, i'll try to be better at updating it and posting fun new shit... and i link this site to my XBOX360 after dark blog, so if you're here from there, thanx again for reading both these, i appreciate the readership for both... hopefully someday i'll be rich and famous and you can say you were there from the beginning...lol.. i mean i do have my little limited brushes with greatness for stuff i did a long time ago like creating all the graphic elements and wallpapers and everything for a little yogurt store in NYC called Eskimix, samples of that are here in older posts, I was the original artist that did a big T-shirt line years ago called Butt-naked that a made alot of people a lot of money except me of course, the story of my life..lol.. I did the logo for Symphony X that they still use today, love those guys, and alot more that i'm too lazy right now to remember and write about, but my art is out and about there floating around in all kinds of forms, graphic design elements i did, other T-shirts i did for penneys and Kohls, again i can go and on, but my shit is everywhere...lol.. so i'm famous in own little bloated self-hating ego, i suck..lol.. be back soon

I love me some logos...lol

Maybe my damn game isn't done yet cuz i can't stop making stupid logos for it?... hmmmm, ya think?...lol... I just love doin logos and this is one of my favorites i've done in a while, so i can't stop making new variations...lol... Here is the logo for a black manual cover or for black shirts, caps, mugs, whatever...lol... i'd love to make a shitload of merchandise for it on cafe press but maybe i should focus my energies on finishing the damn game... prioritizing was never one of my strong suits...lol... considering i've made so much more work for myself like having to draw up a ton of new cards for the crew, new board additions, new ship counter art and additions, planet rules and a shitload of D20 results for a shitload of new D20 die roll modifiers and shit... i did say i was getting ahead of myself..lol.. but i must say again, this game is gonna be epic... if i ever get the fuckin done... but i will have some a nice coffee mug and t-shirt for a game that doesnt exist...lol

NEW StarShips logo...lol

Still workin on my friggin game, turned into an epic since its been so long in the making and i've added so many new elements like crew cards, a 20 sided die and planets and a ship diagram for mapping hits, etc., that i made a new logo with a new subtext...lol... i know i'm retarded and shit but i love doin shit like this, its more fun for me than the game will probly be...lol.. So if you're a company and this looks interesting to you and you wanna market my game, just leave a comment... This game is gonna be amazing once its all done and whatever, so you game companies start lining up now...lol

Here is a crappy blurry pic of my crappy pieces for my StarShip boardgame...lol... they came out ok i guess, the more i messed with em when i was sculpting em the worse and clumpy they were comin out, but i guess they're doable... they have these little black stands you can see on the yellow one that came out pretty cool....

Cthulhu in space... had to be done...

Here it is, yup i had to do it... an expansion pac for my game based on the Cthulhu mythos which i'm obsessed with...lol... gonna be awesome just like all the other pacs and the game itself, and will offer solo play too... Game is coming along nicely as tonight i just scrapped like 4 days of work on the gameboard and started from scratch for a cleaner deep space look... will post some pics of the ships and stuff soon too...

StarShips expansion packs

Back again in between playing lotsa Duke Nukem and child of Eden...lol... Still hard at work on the boardgame, and whats a game without expansion packs?..lol.. So here are 4 that i already worked out and am makin the new parts and accessories for, the rules are already implemented in the game... Only thing left now is the gameboard and the cards, which are gonna be the biggest hurdles to finish.. oh and the ship player sheets which are made of foam and where you set up your moves per turn and all your ships stats.. this is gonna be cool, just gotta finish it...lol

When i was takin the Bumblebee pic, i had it on Jinx's favorite piece of furniture where she sits when i play video games and watches me, her black ottoman...lol... You can't see in this still pic but the funniest part is that her little paw is tapping at the toy so fast, but the Nikon caught it without even a blur..lol.. This is the most curious cat on the planet, and anything new to her needs to be pawed at, chewed and investigated...lol.. But i managed to get the pics before she got her mouth and teeth into it, and she is adorable and photogenic as ever...lol

Bumblebee action figure

Got this the other day, finally, after looking for it at a ton of different ToysRus's, Targets and any other store i could think of that sells toys... I finally broke down and picked it up at the first place i saw it, and they only had 1 left, and that was like a month ago... then after realizing how rare this one model is and NO ONE stocks it in stores, i went back to the one Target where i saw it, and the 1 was still there, and that was a sign from baby Jeezus that it was meant for ME....lol... This thing is awesome... has a ton of sound effects and lights, and actually isnt that tough to get it back into its car shape..lol... unlike the smaller version which i also have and i've yet to get it into car shape after countless hours of messing with it...lol... this one, bam, no problem, had it in car form in like 10 minutes... But this thing is sweet, and the fact its so rare makes it even sweeter, thats why i had to have it...lol...

StarShips logo revise

Back again, and really quick this time...lol... Did a revise to the logo based on a suggestion from my friend Jim, great idea for the cap S's... lovin this even more now... now i can get back to finishing making the game board and the cards since i finished makin the ships themselves and a couple of space stations and some asteroid clusters.. Can't wait to actually playtest this with my friends since i've been wanting to make a game like this for so long now... and i even have like 3 expansions figured out in my head head for a space race mode, space exploration and side quests for the ship captains.. gonna be a blast, just wish i had an idea on how to sell this concept to a game company, so if anyone has any tips on that, leave em in the comments, would really appreciate it....

Made a new board game... heres the logo

Been awhile since my last post, sorry bout that, been busy with a ton of shit, one being a boardgame i always wanted to play.. so i finally made it... 2 of my favorite games as a kid were starfleet battles, a pen and paper tactical star trek game, and broadsides and boarding parties, ship to ship combat with pirate ships... so i took the best qualities of both games, made it really easy and accessible for geeks and non geeks, and voila, bam, here ya go... and even has a spiffy logo to go with it.. i love makin logos...lol... finished makin the ships outta sculpey today, now i just have to finish makin the board and the playing cards used for ship combat and movement, but i have all the pieces and supplies ready to go.. will keep ya posted on the progress here...

Jinx's new friend re-post

Ok, that was weird cuz the other day i posted a pic of Jinx giving the stare down to her new little buddy, and the post seems to have vanished... have no idea how that happened, so here is the pic again... This is a Japanese vinyl bank we picked at an awesome little toy shop in LBI on wednesday... and as you can see, Jinx is befuddled by her new lil companion thats a little too close to her water dish... She's like get this abomination out of my personal space!... Still can't figure out how that post just vanished... oh, the wonders and mysteries of the interwebs, what a magical land it is...

Jinkers isn't as fat as she looks in this pic... The other skinny cat and the fact the camera adds 20 lbs. and the way she kinda spreads out like a water balloon when she lays down, make her look Kirstie Alley size... There ya go, we can call her Kirstie Alley-cat if she ever does put on a few lbs then really give her a complex.. if she doesnt have one already feeling she has to compete with a smiling piece of plastic for our attentions... we love ya Jink-Jinks...lol...

But had to post this pic of Jinx befuddled by this adorable japanese vinyl toy we found in this awesome little toy shop in LBI... She's been walkin by it, twitching, sits in front of it staring at it...lol... i've never seen her this befuddled over anything, its priceless...lol... Guess this is my payback for her almost tearing off my nose a few months ago in a freak accident where i lost like a gallon of blood...lol..
